Festival Hair Colour and Styling Inspiration with Matrix SoColorCult

It’s festival season, you have your outfit sorted and your sequins are at the ready. But what about your hair?

Feel the panic rising? Many people will say to not worry about festival hair, there’s always boho plaits, french braids and flower crowns to fall back on. But for the less practical of us all, with limited hair styling skills, it can be hard to make your hair as impactful as your outfits.

That’s why we are loving bolder hair colours and easy go-to styles this season and want to help you feel your best with Matrix UK. Here are our top three favourite festival hair looks, to give you some inspiration ready for the party season.

Look one – Pretty Pink Root Smudge

We are in love with this girly festival hair look with a pink twist! A reversed blonde Balayage is the perfect way to colour your hair a bit differently and is sure to turn some heads. Ask your Matrix hairdresser to blend any pastel shades into each other or even one shade into your natural hair colour.

This pink lemonade creation is by @hairbyfranco, using Matrix SoColorCult.

Not heard of SoColorCult yet? SoColorCult is our biggest Matrix hair colour launch… ever! We will have a combination of bright, bold shades, to pretty pastel tones. This is due to launch in September for the UK and Ireland so stayed tuned for regular updates and inspiration ready for the big day!

Style with some loose bouncy curls to create the ultra girly and voluminous look - also perfect for creating some super cool slow motion shots to post on your Instagram!

To make sure your bouncy waves stay in place and maintain volume prep the hair with Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Re-bodify mask after shampoo and conditioning. The clay mask contains ginger and kaolin clay and builds body to flat, fine hair, so the hair appears fuller. What’s better, the natural derived formula contains no artificial colorants, parabens or silicones!

Look two – Galactic glitter

Using glitter in your hair can take your hair colour from zero to one hundred instantly – even better when your hair colour is stunning anyway!

This colour was created using #SoColorCult and then a glitter and hair gel mixture was applied over the top.

We recommend using Total Results The Rebond 3- step reparative system, to maintain the condition of the hair. The Rebond is our first ever bonding home-care regime which can help protect hair from damage when having any lightening service for #GuiltFreeColour!

Check your hair into rehab and find out more about how you can damage control your broken hair bonds in our blog post…

Look three – Metallic rock

This is one of our favourite festival hair styles, including a combination of SoColourCult shades. There is always the fear that lots of hair colours means a lot of maintenance and commitment, however if you use the correct colour protecting hair care products, you will be able to prolong your hair vibrancy and maintain that ‘just out of salon’ hair colour.

Our current favourite is the Biolage Colorlast range. The unique blend of unique botanicals and latest technologies creates gentle, high performing formulas which help enhance your colour. Start with the Biolage ColorLast Shampoo, then follow with the Biolage ColorLast Conditioner. For extra nourishment try the Biolage ColorLast Aqua-gel conditioner, which helps strengthen fragile strands, whilst enhancing vibrancy and shine.

Styling a buzz cut leaves the perfect platform for you to go as wild and creative as you want with glitter, gems and hair jewellery. Use hair gel to fix the gems and glitter in place and then fix with hair spray, so that it will last all day.

We hope this has given you some festival hair styling and colour inspiration. For more ideas check out our social channels! You can find us on Instagram @Matrix, Facebook @Matrixhaircare and twitter @Matrixhaircare. Psst...don’t forget to tag us in your #Matrixcreations
