Jamie Stevens
Award-winning hairdresser, salon owner, global ambassador for Matrix, media & celebrity favourite and HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year 2014, 2013 & 2012 nominee, Jamie Stevens has fast established a well-deserved reputation as one of the nation’s most successful and talented hairstylists. His enviable CV includes owning his first eponymous salon at 18 years old - that he still owns and runs today - before moving to London to work alongside the likes of Daniel Hersheson, Beverley C, Paul Merritt, Adee Phelan and latterly Errol Douglas, where he worked for over 7 years as Art Director. His natural charisma and flair for hairdressing has seen Jamie work with celebrities from Kylie, Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova and Myleene Klass to Christian Slater, Gok Wan, Hugh Grant and Olly Murs. Not to mention the many artists he has transformed on The X Factor as the official backstage hairstylist for the last four years. In addition to The X Factor, Jamie’s affable nature and down to earth approach has seen him be hairdresser of choice on shows including This Morning, Gok’s Fashion Fix and How to Look Good Naked, cementing his status as one of the UK’s most sought-after stylists. A keen eye for trends makes Jamie a go-to hair guru amongst beauty editors for expert advice, makeovers and shoots, whilst his creative vision and technical skill has earned him ambassadorial roles for global brands including Matrix Haircare, where he travels extensively both in and outside of the UK educating and inspiring others with his infectious passion for all things hair. Accolades include being the Clothes Show Live Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year 2010, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Ambassador of the Year 2010 and Media Personality of 2012. He has also been recognised for his exceptional men’s hair work, twice winning the British Hairdressing Awards Men’s Hairdresser of the Year Award, as well as being the English Hair & Beauty Awards Men’s Stylist of the Year 2013 and winning the first ever Best Men’s Hairdresser category at the HAIR Awards 2013. Jamie’s first nomination for HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year Award made him the joint youngest ever contender for the industry’s most esteemed accolade, a title that he was nominated again for last year. He has also been shortlisted several times in categories including London Hairdresser of the Year and Afro Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards, universally recognised as the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing world. Combining creativity with smart business sense, Jamie Stevens successfully re-launched his Somerset salon in 2010 that he opened when he was just 18 years old, before launching his first London salon in Kensington in April 2012, with a team of carefully chosen experts. This includes his talented sibling, Tasha Stevens, who was shortlisted in the Schwarzkopf Professional British Colour Technician of the Year 2013 category at last year’s British Hairdressing Awards, won the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Regional and Grand Final Awards earlier this year alongside Jamie’s wife Megan and is also the London Salon Manager. Offering a full range of cutting, colouring and styling services with bespoke treatments for both men and women, the salon is fast becoming West London’s ultimate destination for excellence in trend-led, wearable hair.
